Highlights from the Organic Grain Farming Systems Field Day Event. 2021

A fantastic event organised by AOL and the AOL Broadacre Grains Committee.  The day began with a hosted tour of Bellevue Grazing Company, a mixed agricultural enterprise in Millmerran, operated by lifelong farmers David and Robbie Curtis, with an exclusive talk by AOL Technical Officer Josefine Pettersson on key insights from the 2021 Australian Organic Market Report, before hearing from agronomist Ian Moss of Farmagronomy, on “Organic Weed Control Options: Where are we?” This was followed by a visit to Kialla Pure Foods in Greenmount for lunch and a guided tour, before hearing from Managing Director Quentin Kennedy on “Why organic? Post farm gate value chains and the opportunities of organic.” and concluded with an open Q&A session. Thank you to all who attended – it was amazing to see such a fantastic turn out, and thanks to the AOL Broadacre Grains committee for this great initiative. Thank you also to Bellevue Grazing Company and Kialla Pure Foods for hosting us! We look forward to doing more in-person events again soon.
